Our Mission
Introducing the
Sakalya Project
The Sakalya Project was created to support organisations as they ask deeper questions about the nature of their institution, catalysed by the challenges that confront them. We host challenging conversations about what organisations are for, and what real change looks like, in a supportive and nurturing environment.

What does that
actually involve?
We are at a time when evolution seems to have accelerated and humanity faces a
maelstrom of crises: economic, social, political, environmental, spiritual - a polycrisis. Yet at
the very time when we need our institutions to step up, they are suffering their own crises.
Their decision-making structures and processes are not suited for such times and they have
lost their way.
Businesses, charitable organisations and other private institutions are central to all this.
They represent both a concern and yet also a place of possibility. While large corporations
continue to push for unsustainable growth, innovation is surging up in countless small
enterprises. Many are exploring ways of being and acting that are more aligned with societal
needs.
That’s where we come in. We support organisations as they ask deeper questions about the
nature of their organisation, catalysed by the challenges that confront them. And we host
challenging conversations about what organisations are for, and what real change looks like.
Imagine an enterprise that makes its decisions in harmony with nature. One that considers
the impact of its decisions, not just on its people and on its immediate stakeholders, but on
future generations and on the more-than-human. One dedicated to serving the wider
community of life.
Taking our prompts from the way nature organises herself, The Sakalya Project exists to inspire and nurture such organisations, promoting governance structures and practices that help companies flourish in a wholesome and healthy environment.
But where did all of this begin?
Enter Patrick Andrews...

Providing holistic, pragmatic and insightful guidance to dreamers, activists and pioneers reimagining how we live, work and organise ourselves. Together we can build a more peaceful, inclusive and regenerative society.
My story: fell in love with nature in my early teens.
Became a corporate lawyer in my 20s.
Learned about climate change and de-forestation in my 30s. Left my job...
Since then, have been exploring how we might re-think and reimagine the architecture of our organisations, to help us live and work more in line with nature's rhythms and patterns.
Am particularly focused on models of ownership, governance and leadership that promote justice, compassion, community and responsibility.
Sounds complex but fundamentally it is quite simple. As Thich Nhat Hahn said: "We need to wake up and fall in love with Earth.”

I support organisations to be purpose driven,
planet-positive and profitable, or rather sustainable
To do this I mix up transformational learning design,
regenerative growth strategy & practical solutions
that create the foundations for good business.
My career is shaped by a long-held passion for
addressing complex problems, and cultivating a
world where everyone can meaningfully coexist in
society, and live in harmony with our planet.
